Why Mbappe was removed from the French team
France coach Didier Deschamps has left Kylian Mbappe out of his squad for the Nations League this November.
The Real Madrid striker has not been selected for the upcoming matches against Israel and Italy.
Mbappe, 25, was ruled out of France’s two Nations League matches in October as a precautionary
measure and was expected to return to the squad this month.
“I had a conversation with him, it’s a decision I made not to join the team,” Deschamps said in a press conference he held.
“Kylian wanted to play for the team.” but the decision was made by me not to join the team at this time.
The star, who joined Real Madrid on a free transfer in the summer after leaving Paris St-Germain, has struggled to adapt to his new team since moving to the Bernabeu.
Mbappe has scored eight goals in 15 appearances for the La Liga side, but has scored just one goal in his last five games in all competitions.
Real, who won the Champions League and La Liga last season, were beaten 4-0 by rivals Barcelona last month and are nine points behind the Catalans in the league.
Mbappe, who won the 2018 World Cup, scored 48 goals in 86 appearances for France.
