Andreas Pereira
I spent 10 years at Manchester United – but I felt a lack of love from the team
Former Manchester United player, Andreas Pereira, has accused the club of not showing enough confidence and clear will.
Andreas Pereira spent 10 years at United after joining from PSV Eindhoven in 2012 at the age of 16. He left Old
Trafford in July 2022, joining Premier League side Fulham on a four-year deal.
Despite making 75 appearances during his time at United, the Brazilian failed to make a regular first-team
appearance, often making the occasional appearance. The Covid-affected 2019-2020 season was his most successful at United, making 40 appearances in all competitions.
Speaking to Premier League Brasil, Pereira said: “In the 10 years I’ve been there, I haven’t seen anything
romantic. I believe that, with some of the signings, the team would trust the youth. Me, Angel (Gomes),
(Scott) McTominay, (Jesse) Lingard, these players. They play well, but every chance the team gets, it depends.”
Pereira, after spending the 2021-2022 season on loan in his native Brazil, left Old Trafford permanently the
following season, moving to Fulham. He has made 91 appearances for Fulham so far, scoring nine goals.
Pereira made his Manchester United debut in 2014, coming on as a second-half substitute in their 4-0 win
over MK Dons in the second round of the League Cup. Coach Louis van Gaal had plenty of options in midfield, and Pereira knew his chances would be tough.
