Liverpool’s attacking legend, Mohamed Salah, is out of contract at Anfield next summer and has shown no signs of extending his contract.
Will Liverpool release Salah ?
Micah Richards says Liverpool will not be a strong team without Salah – and insists they “need him”.
Although Arne Slott has made a good start to life at Anfield and has made the Reds a title contender, there is still a strong sense of dread at the club. Three of their top-flight stars, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, and Salah, are all out of contract in 2025.
The Egyptian star, who joined the club in 2017, will no doubt be one of Liverpool’s legends when it comes time to leave, as he has a good track record, but the question is: How will Liverpool fare if he leaves in the summer? Will Liverpool release Salah next?
According to Sky Sports commentator Richards, it will not go well for the team. The former Manchester City defender feels that Salah is untouchable if success is to be seen on Merseyside, and the team will not be complete without him.
When asked if Liverpool would be a stronger team next season if Salah left, Richards simply replied: “No, no, no – no chance!”
“There is no chance. Liverpool need Salah. The reason I say that is because Salah can score goals even when he is not playing well. That’s the difference. Many times, he scored goals that helped the team compete. I think no one can replace him.”
